Netflix fires film chief Dan Lin ahead of Q3 earnings, completing content-leadership shakeup
What happened
Netflix fired film chief Dan Lin over the weekend, multiple outlets reported Monday, after nearly three years running Netflix Film. Lin was let go at the start of the weekend, attended Saturday's Academy Gala, and will address his teams Monday, per Variety. New chief content officer Peter Rice, who replaced Bela Bajaria last week, will pick Lin's successor; former Warner Bros. film chiefs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy are rumored candidates. Netflix declined to comment. The move completes a total shakeup of Netflix's content leadership days before its Q3 earnings report on Tuesday, Oct 20.
