Paycheck Paradox is operated by YOTTADESIGN, LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what we collect when you use paycheckparadox.com, the Smart Money Hub web app at paycheckparadox.com/smart-money-hub, the Paycheck Paradox podcast, and the Paycheck Paradox apps for iPhone and Android (together, the "Services"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
Questions or requests: [email protected].
The short version
- We collect what we need to run your account and the features you use. We don't sell your personal information, we don't share it for advertising, and the apps contain no ads or ad tracking.
- You can export your data and delete your account at any time, in the app or on the web.
- Payments are handled by Apple, Google or Square. We never see your full card number.
- Our AI tools (Google Gemini) are used to produce our own content, such as podcast episodes and news summaries. Your personal information is not sent to them.
What we collect
Account information. Your email address, your name (if you give it), and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email (with Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email; we then receive a private relay address) and a unique account identifier from that provider.
What you put into the Services.
- Saved calculations: the numbers you enter and the name you give each one. If you create a share link, anyone with that link can see a read-only snapshot of that calculation until you delete it.
- Credit Card Benefit Tracker: the cards you add (card names, issuers, annual fees, the month the fee posts, an optional last four digits, the date you opened the card), authorized-user and extra cards (a label, an optional cardholder name and fee), the benefits on each card and your log of when you used them. We never ask for and do not store full card numbers, expiration dates, security codes or bank logins.
- Family data sharing: if you invite someone, they can see and edit your saved calculations and card tracker. We store the invitation, the email address you invited and the link between your accounts.
- Messages and forms: what you send through the contact form (name, email, message) and newsletter or waitlist sign-ups (email, optional name, the page you signed up from).
Membership and purchases. Whether you have Pro, your plan, trial and renewal dates, and the store you subscribed through. For purchases in the apps, Apple or Google process the payment and we receive the purchase status through our subscription provider, RevenueCat. For purchases on our website, Square processes the payment; we keep the Square customer and subscription identifiers, not your card details.
Devices and notifications. If you turn on notifications in an app, we store a push notification token for that device, its platform, and your notification preferences, so we can send the alerts you choose (for example, new episodes or market news). You can turn notifications off at any time in the app or in your phone's settings.
Usage and technical information. On our website and web app we use Google Analytics to understand which pages and features are used, using cookies and similar technology. When you are signed in, we send Google Analytics a pseudonymous ID (not your name or email) so we can count usage across the website and web app. We also set a first-party cookie that remembers your plan for analytics. Like every website, our servers and our providers' servers (Cloudflare, Google Cloud, Firebase) receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the Services and keep them secure. The apps do not contain Google Analytics, advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking.
Bot protection. Our sign-up page uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that you're a person. Turnstile processes technical signals from your browser for that purpose.
How we use it
- To provide the Services: your account, saved calculations, card tracker, family sharing, notifications, audio and Pro features.
- To process and confirm your membership and to honor it across the website and the apps.
- To communicate with you about your account, your membership and messages you send us. We send marketing email only if you sign up for it, and every marketing email will include a way to unsubscribe.
- To understand and improve the Services, fix problems and prevent abuse and fraud.
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use.
AI and the content we publish
We use Google's Gemini models to help produce our own content: podcast scripts and AI voices, and summaries and audio for Moves That Matter, created from our articles and from public news sources. These tools receive our content and public information only. We do not send your personal information, your saved calculations or your card tracker data to any AI service. AI-produced content is labeled as such and can contain mistakes.
When we share information
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:
- With service providers that run the Services for us, under contracts that limit their use of it: Google Cloud and Firebase (hosting, databases, storage, email delivery and analytics), Cloudflare (network, security and bot protection), Apple and Google (sign-in, in-app purchases and push notifications), Expo (push notification delivery), RevenueCat (subscription status for the apps), and Square (website payments).
- With people you choose, for example family members you invite, or anyone you send a calculation share link to.
- When required by law or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or us.
- In a business transfer, if we're involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information and what you put into the Services for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your account, saved calculations, card tracker data, family links and sign-in sessions, and we remove the link between your account and your devices. Some information can remain for a limited time in backups (up to 30 days) or where we must keep it by law (for example, payment records). Newsletter and waitlist sign-ups are kept until you ask us to remove them. Messages you send us are kept as long as needed to respond and for our records.
Your choices and rights
- Access and export: download your data any time from Account in the web app (Export), or ask us.
- Correction: update your name and email in Account.
- Deletion: delete your account in the app (Me → Account → Delete my account) or on the web (Account → Delete my account), or follow the steps at paycheckparadox.com/delete-account/. If you can't sign in, email us from the address on your account.
- Notifications: turn them off in the app or your phone's settings.
- Cookies and analytics: you can block or delete cookies in your browser. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we do not use analytics cookies.
Depending on where you live (for example California, other US states with privacy laws, the EEA or the UK), you may have the right to know, access, correct, delete or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. Email us to make a request; we'll verify it's you (usually by replying from your account email) and respond within the time the law requires. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows. If you're in the EEA or UK, our legal bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and improving the Services, your consent where we ask for it, and legal obligations; you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Do Not Track. Browsers' "Do Not Track" signals have no common standard, so we don't respond to them. We don't track you across other companies' sites or apps.
Children
The Services are for adults. They're not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Our Parents Hub and kids' and teen calculators are tools for parents. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and reputable cloud providers. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
International users
We're based in the United States and our providers process information in the United States and other countries. By using the Services you understand your information will be processed there.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change and change the effective date above. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the Services or by email before it takes effect.
