Tesla Q3 deliveries beat estimates at 486,532 as Europe recovers, shares rise
What happened
Tesla reported third-quarter 2026 deliveries of 486,532 vehicles on Friday morning, down 2.1% year over year from the record 497,099 of Q3 2025 — but beating the company-compiled consensus of ~461,974 by roughly 25,000 units (about 5.3%), its widest consensus beat since it began publishing estimates. The beat was broad: it topped all 24 analysts' individual estimates (range: 421,758 to 482,000). Tesla produced 464,391 vehicles, so deliveries exceeded production by ~22,000 for the second quarter in a row, continuing to work down the excess inventory built in Q1. Energy storage deployments hit 13.7 GWh, below the 15.9 GWh analysts expected but still the company's second-best quarter ever. Shares rose ~4.2% Friday.
