Meta's Muse AI agent crosses 5M U.S. downloads in 22 days — faster than ChatGPT; 3M+ weekly prompt users
What happened
Meta's Muse AI assistant crossed 5 million U.S. downloads just 22 days after its September 8 launch, according to Sensor Tower estimates reported September 30–October 1 — reaching the milestone far faster than ChatGPT (56 days), xAI's Grok (103 days) and Anthropic's Claude (492 days). It is one of only 23 apps ever to reach 5M U.S. downloads within 22 days, and one of just a few non-gaming apps to do so (alongside Disney+, HBO Max and Threads). Separately, internal data reviewed by The Information showed more than 3 million users now give Muse at least one prompt each week, over 1 million send at least one prompt daily, and more than 4 million people use Muse in some form weekly — up sharply from ~500,000 users about a week after launch. Muse has held the #1 spot on the U.S. App Store for 12 days.
